About Cape Atlantic Intergroup
An Intergroup is an A.A. service office established to help carry the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to a certain geographical area. Cape Atlantic Intergroup (CAIG) provides services to over 140 A.A. Groups in the Southeastern region of New Jersey – from Waretown to Cape May Point.
The Intergroup holds a monthly Business Meeting, where Intergroup Representatives (IGRs) attend to hear reports on the activities and services we provide to the groups. Any member can attend this meeting. Minutes from the monthly meetings help the IRGs report back to their groups, and keep them informed.
Governed by our BY-LAWS, the elected Steering Panel and appointed Committee Chairpersons oversee the service work. The work of Intergroup Service is done by the hands of many volunteers working to foster a fellowship among the membership, provide information to the public and carry the message of recovery through the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Help Carry the Message
Hospitals & Institutions
Intergroup helps our groups perform service work - 12 Step Work - at local facilities. Each month, a group selects a facility where their group members can bring a meetings to a rehab or detox facility in our geographic Intergroup service area. This work is part of the H & I Committee, one of several Intergroup Committees in service.

Bridging the Gap
Bridging the Gap enables people in hospitals, detoxes, rehabs, or correctional facilities to meet with a local temporary contact from Alcoholics Anonymous who can introduce them to A.A. and help them get to an A.A. meeting.
